Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvary Chapel). They breezed by the Santa Ana Valley Falcons at home to the tune of 49-6 on Thursday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 27.3 points per game.

It was another big night for Matthew Peters, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 59 yards. Noah Barthel made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Calvary Chapel didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Waldo Castrejon, Barthel, Peters, and Jorge Brito picked up one apiece. Peters' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 112 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Calvary Chapel's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Santa Ana Valley, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Chapel will head out to take on Estancia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Estancia's defense has only allowed eight points per game this season, so Calvary Chapel's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Santa Ana Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Ocean View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ocean View is coming into the contest with three straight losses at home, meaning Santa Ana Valley will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
