After starting their season with two straight games on the road, Leander is finally coming home. They will be defending their home-fieldthey go up against the Del Valle Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Valle took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Leander, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, everything went Leander's way against Hendrickson as Leander made off with a 42-21 victory.

Mason Montgomery was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 65 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Zane Wooldridge, who picked up 161 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Leander was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2023.

Leander wouldn't let Hendrickson keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Jake Bridwell was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance.

Meanwhile, Del Valle lost 37-13 to Clemens on Friday. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Buffaloes recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Leander's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1. As for Del Valle, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
