Baseball Recap: Centralia Tigers vs. Shelton Highclimbers

Centralia extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-10. They came up short against the Shelton Highclimbers, falling 17-5. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Highclimbers this season, with their most recent loss being a 8-6 defeat on Wednesday.

As for Shelton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Shelton's part, Mason Ehler made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Ehler a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Kingston Cahoon looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Zaine Harding was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Gunnar Jensen, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with five RBI and one run.
