Volleyball Recap: La Vernia Bears vs. Sotomayor WILDCATS
La Vernia took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Sotomayor WILDCATS with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the WILDCATS, too.
La Vernia walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-17, 25-17.

Leading La Vernia to victory were Karis Carpenter and Madelynn Nagelmueller. Carpenter had 14 digs and two aces, while Nagelmueller had five aces and three digs. That's the most digs Nagelmueller has posted since back in October of 2024.
Sotomayor's loss came despite strong showings from Zoey Aguayo and Adyson England. Aguayo had nine assists and five digs, while England had eight kills and one block.
