Basketball Recap: Randolph-Henry Statesmen vs. William Campbell Generals
Randolph-Henry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the William Campbell Generals 47-19. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-21 back in December of 2024.
William Campbell's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arnesia Dews, who went 7 for 14 en route to 20 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Those 20 points gave Dews a new career-high. Cassie Townes was another key player, putting up 19 points in addition to six steals and five assists.
Randolph-Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for William Campbell, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Randolph-Henry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 35-31 victory against Nottoway on the 4th. As for William Campbell, they have also already played their next game, a 1-0 loss against Staunton River on the 6th.
