Basketball Recap: Eastside Catholic Comes Up Short

On Monday, Eastside Catholic faced Rainier Beach in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Eastside Catholic Crusaders were dealt a 99-72 loss at the hands of the Rainier Beach Vikings. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Eastside Catholic and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Rainier Beach, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside Catholic will welcome Garfield at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rainier Beach, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Seattle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Rainier Beach's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
