Volleyball Game Preview: Enochs Eagles vs. Downey Knights

Enochs is a perfect 4-0 against Downey since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Enochs Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Downey Knights at 6:00 p.m. Downey took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Enochs, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Enochs turned things around against Modesto on Thursday. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1.

Meanwhile, Downey came up short against Pitman on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

While Downey was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Pitman's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 25-21.

Downey's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Enochs, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-11.

Enochs was able to grind out a solid win over Downey in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Enochs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
