California high school football: After three straight 200-yard performances, Eric Terrazes of Sierra Vista tops state rushing yardage leaderboard

State's leading rusher hasn't been held under 120 yards all year.

Eric Terrazes of Sierra Vista (Baldwin Park) is California high school football's leader in rushing yardage with 1,831 on the year, according to statistics submitted to MaxPreps. The 5-foot-7, 155-pound senior has 23 touchdowns on 184 carries.

Against Baldwin Park last weekend, Terrazes ran 33 times for 240 yards and three touchdowns in a losing effort.

Terrazes has run for 200 yards or more five times, including 410 yards and five scores on just 16 carries in a 60-13 win over Bassett in September.

Sitting 62 yards behind Terrazes is Coachella Valley (Thermal) sophomore Aaron Ramirez, who now has 1,769 yards after rushing six times for 189 yards and three scores in a 64-0 blanking of Cathedral City last weekend. Ramirez has rushed for 200 yards five times during a 7-1 start for the Mighty Arabs.



Delon Thompson of St. Bonaventure (Ventura) has 1,744 yards on the ground after gaining 208 yards and crossing the goal line twice on 23 carries in a 41-28 triumph over Simi Valley last weekend to claim the No. 3 spot.

Among the notable performances from last weekend, No. 15 Eric Egere of Rowland (Rowland Heights) piled up 410 yards and six scores on 31 carries in a 61-48 loss to Chino.
