South Caldwell won the last time they faced Watauga and things went their way on Friday too. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Pioneers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since March 18th.

South Caldwell's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Watauga, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Coming up, South Caldwell will be playing at home against Freedom at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Watauga, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Weddington at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Pioneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
