Basketball Game Preview: Independence Falcons vs. Liberty Patriots

The Independence Falcons will take on the Liberty Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Thursday, Independence lost to Bakersfield at home by a 59-45 margin. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Drillers are ranked 218th).

Meanwhile, Liberty ended up a good deal behind Stockdale on Thursday and lost 46-30. The match marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Independence, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-9.

Everything went Independence's way against Liberty in their previous matchup on January 9th, as Independence made off with a 61-38 victory. Will Independence repeat their success, or does Liberty have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
