Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Detroit Country Day). Their defense stepped up to hand the Clarenceville Trojans a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Detroit Country Day's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Clarenceville are ranked 385th).

Detroit Country Day pushed their record up to 8-4-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Clarenceville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-2.

Detroit Country Day wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against St. Catherine of Siena Academy on the 30th. Clarenceville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
