Recap: State College Little Lions vs. Cumberland Valley Eagles
The State College Little Lions were the 48-31 winner over the Cumberland Valley Eagles when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. State College took a 17-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cumberland Valley on Friday. State College has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Bryce Staretz, who rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns. Staretz is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
State College's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Cumberland Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. State College will take on Chambersburg at TBD on Friday. Chambersburg will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 138th, while State College is ranked 38th). As for Cumberland Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Altoona on Friday. Altoona is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
