Softball Recap: Spearfish Takes a Loss

Spearfish made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sturgis Brown, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Spartans fell just short of the Scoopers by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 13-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Spearfish's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Sturgis Brown, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Spearfish will take on Watertown at 2:30 p.m. on the 9th. As for Sturgis Brown, they are taking a road trip to take on Tea on Friday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.75 runs per game on average), something the Scoopers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
