Volleyball Game Preview: Santa Ynez Pirates vs. Templeton Eagles

Santa Ynez is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home court against the Templeton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Templeton took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Santa Ynez, who comes in off a win.

Santa Ynez had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Mission College Prep on Thursday. Santa Ynez blew past Mission College Prep 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won five in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Santa Ynez was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-8, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Templeton lost 3-0 to Orcutt Academy on Thursday.

Templeton took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 28-26.

Templeton's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Santa Ynez, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Santa Ynez took their victory against Templeton when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Does Santa Ynez have another victory up their sleeve, or will Templeton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
