Basketball Recap: Mandarin Mustangs vs. Fletcher Senators
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mandarin couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 47-46 to the Fletcher Senators. The Mustangs have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Fletcher's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Burghardt, who posted 13 points. That's the most points Burghardt has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryder Kay, who scored 13 points and five boards.
Mandarin's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Fletcher, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
