Volleyball Game Preview: Appleton East Patriots vs. Luxemburg-Casco Spartans

Appleton East is 0-3 against Luxemburg-Casco since October of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Patriots will face off against the Spartans at 8:30 a.m.

On Thursday, Appleton East came up short against Fond du Lac and fell 3-1.

Appleton East started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-12, 25-14, 25-23.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Luxemburg-Casco, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Marinette 3-0 on Thursday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Luxemburg-Casco was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-8, 25-10.

Luxemburg-Casco has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. As for Appleton East, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-18.

Appleton East couldn't quite get it done against Luxemburg-Casco when the teams last played back in October of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
