Softball Recap: Buckhorn Comes Up Short

Buckhorn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 17-2 to the Ardmore Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 back in March.

Buckhorn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karter Rice, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Buckhorn's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Ardmore, they pushed their record up to 20-17-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Buckhorn will be taking part in a tournament against Hardin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ardmore, they will take on McNairy Central in a tournament on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
