Recap: Polytechnic Parrots vs. Wyatt Chaparrals
The Polytechnic Parrots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Wyatt 61-19. Polytechnic was down 44-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Polytechnic struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Wyatt posted 14 assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wyatt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cynaa Weathers, who scored 15 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyniesha Horner, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Polytechnic has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Wyatt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-11.
Polytechnic will be playing in front of their home fans against Trimble Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Polytechnic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 50 on Friday. As for Wyatt, they will head out on the road to challenge Everman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wyatt is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
