Basketball Game Preview: Clovis Wildcats vs. Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls

Clovis is 2-8 against Carlsbad since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Clovis Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Clovis is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They were beaten by Roswell 77-45. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Coyotes are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Carlsbad lost to Hobbs at home by a 65-47 margin on Friday. The Cavemen/Cavegirls have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Clovis' defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Carlsbad, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.

Clovis lost to Carlsbad on the road by a decisive 58-43 margin in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Clovis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
