The River City Raiders will head out to square off against the Pleasant Valley Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. River City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Christian Brothers hit River City with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders fell 9-4 to the Falcons. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tanner Mayberry was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another player making a difference was Jordan Torrente, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 win over Shasta. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Brayden Borges tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Pleasant Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Greyson Christie, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Pleasant Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shasta struck out eight times.

Pleasant Valley's record now sits at 14-12. As for River City, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.
