Softball Game Preview: Ysleta Indians vs. Burges Mustangs

The Ysleta Indians will face off against the Burges Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Ysleta's offense. They came up short against Mayfield on Tuesday, falling 16-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Indians were not able to get on the board.

Ysleta saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cienna Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Burges was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-2 to Socorro.

Burges' defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Ysleta, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ysleta has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. However, it's not like Burges struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
