Basketball Game Preview: Orange Panthers vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs

The Orange Panthers and the Shadow Ridge Mustangs will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Orange is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Orange is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Incline on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Panthers lost 52-32 to the Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1020th in California, while the Highlanders are ranked 80th in Nevada).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shadow Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They escaped with a win on Friday against Irvine by the margin of a single free throw, 50-49.

Shadow Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Orange, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
