Softball Recap: Lutheran West Wins Going Away Against St. Martin De Porres

Lutheran West's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 29-6 margin over the St. Martin de Porres Lions. Considering the Longhorns have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aryana 'Ary' Garcia and Kailyn Caster did most of the damage at the plate: Garcia went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Caster got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Hughes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Lutheran West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .927. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Lutheran West is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for St. Martin de Porres, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
