Volleyball Recap: Montrose Has No Trouble Against Lackawanna Trail

Montrose won the last time they faced Lackawanna Trail and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Meteors put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Montrose's got stronger as the match went on, holding Lackawanna Trail to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-10, 25-7.

Montrose's offense was headlined by AVA BELL and SADIE JONES, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from GRACIE JONES and her 15 assists. SADIE was also a major player on defense: she and she shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Montrose's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. As for Lackawanna Trail, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Montrose is set to take on their familiar foe Abington Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lackawanna Trail will face off against rival Valley View at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
