Basketball Recap: Shelton Comes Up Short

Shelton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 67-58 to the Fairfield Prep Jesuits. While losing is never fun, the Gaels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Jesuits are ranked 31st).

Shelton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Fairfield Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Coming up, Shelton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cheshire at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairfield Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
