Volleyball Recap: Bear River Makes It 14 in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Bear River, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Marysville Indians 3-0 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won eight in a row.

Bear River was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-7, 25-21.

Kyle Smith paced Bear River's offense, picking up 13 kills. Smith got some help from Ethan Tucker and his 30 assists. Smith also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Justyce Johnson, racking up three apiece.

Bear River pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Marysville, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

After both having extra time off, Bear River and Center will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st. The Bruins are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Marysville, they will be taking part in a tournament against River Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
