Softball Recap: Tough Loss for Mccook

McCook fell victim to St. Cecilia and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Bluehawks, falling 10-0.

For St. Cecilia's part, Phoebe Selvage looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. The six batters struck out were her most this season.

At the plate, St. Cecilia's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Johanna Selvage, who went a perfect 3-for-3 while posting 3 runs and 1 RBI. The three hits were her most since August 27th, when she had three vs. Central City.

McCook has now lost five of their last six games on the road. That gives them a 10-8 record this season. As for St. Cecilia, they have now won 14 of their last 15 games at home. That gives them a 9-5 record this season.

McCook is on the road again on Monday to play Highway 6 at 6:30 p.m. As for St. Cecilia, they will take on Grand Island Central Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
