Basketball Recap: Lake Nona Comes Up Short

Lake Nona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 65-50 bruising from the Master's Academy Eagles. The Lions were probably out for revenge after losing 58-48 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lake Nona's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Master's Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lake Nona Lions challenge the Winter Park Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Master's Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Master's Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy likes a good challenge.
