Baseball Game Preview: Benjamin Buccaneers vs. Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack

The Benjamin Buccaneers will challenge the Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Benjamin has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Benjamin took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against St. John Paul II Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Benjamin never let St. John Paul II Academy get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday.

The result came thanks to Thomas Harris's shutout, as he gave up just two hits.

At the plate, Benjamin's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Logan Buchanan, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Schoolhouse Prep lost 16-2 to Braddock on Thursday. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Benjamin is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. Schoolhouse Prep now has a losing record of 7-8.
