Preview: Amplus Academy Archers vs. Bonanza Bengals
Amplus Academy is on an 11-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Bonanza a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Amplus Academy Archers will take on the Bonanza Bengals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amplus Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Amplus Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 21-7 loss to Eldorado.
Naomi Jacob was Amplus Academy's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Laylah Polk held things down on the boards with 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 62 points the game before, Bonanza were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were beaten by Somerset Academy Losee 49-12. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bonanza has scored all season.
Amplus Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bonanza, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Amplus Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-37 loss to Bonanza when the teams last played back in December of 2023.
