Softball Recap: La Salle Victorious

La Salle lost to Putnam on Wednesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Falcons narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Kingsmen 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since May 23, 2025.

Ruby George made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. George was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eleanor Simpson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 11 times she's played.

La Salle's record is now 11-4. As for Putnam, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.

Coming up, La Salle will be playing in front of their home fans against Aloha at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Putnam, they will venture away from home to square off against Canby at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Kingsmen surely won't give up without a fight.
