Basketball Recap: Oakwood Christian Takes a Loss

If Oakwood Christian was riding high fresh off their 58-36 takedown of Dalton Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Oakwood Christian Eagles had to suffer through a 68-40 loss at the hands of the Berean Academy Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Oakwood Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-45 two weeks ago.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Berean Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Wigginton, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards gave Wigginton a new career-high. Ryan Stansifer was another key player, going 6 of 13 en route to 15 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Oakwood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Berean Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Oakwood Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-43 loss against Praise Academy on the 25th. Berean Academy has also already played their next game (against Whitwell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
