Baseball Recap: Jackson Academy Wins High-Profile Contest Against Jackson Prep

Jackson Academy faced Jackson Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Raiders never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Raiders' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Whit Davis tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Josh Dockins and Foster Meacham did most of the damage at the plate: Dockins went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Meacham went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, Meacham posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Justin Word, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Jackson Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jackson Prep only posted a batting average of .222.
