Softball Game Preview: Northern Lehigh Bulldogs vs. Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders

The Northern Lehigh Bulldogs will take on the Notre Dame-Green Pond Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Northern Lehigh didn't have quite enough to beat Palmerton and fell 10-8.

Addison Smith was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Tegan Simms was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Gad, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame-Green Pond got the win against Lehighton on Friday by a conclusive 28-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Addison Ryan was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Natalie Lilly was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Northern Lehigh's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.5 runs. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their record is now 2-0.
