Softball Recap: Union Takes a Loss

After flying high against Gate City on Friday, Union came back down to earth. The Bears came up short against the John Battle Trojans on Tuesday, falling 14-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bears have suffered against the Trojans since April 4, 2023.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for John Battle, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Union will take on Virginia High at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bearcats have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for John Battle, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Eastside on the 7th.
