Softball Recap: Reeds Spring Comes Up Short

Reeds Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 9-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Chloe Clevenger was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Kourtney Stice also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Reeds Spring's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Springfield Catholic, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4.

While Reeds Spring had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
