Softball Recap: Montgomery County Indians vs. West Jessamine Colts

Montgomery County entered their tilt with West Jessamine with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the West Jessamine Colts on Friday.

Reaghan Oney was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Cox, who went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

On West Jessamine's side, Paige Hobgood made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Alexis Thompson was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Montgomery County pushed their record up to 21-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for West Jessamine, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montgomery County will square off against Madison Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Jessamine, they will head out on the road to challenge Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The pair have allowed few runs on average, (West Jessamine: 2.7, Woodford County: 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
