Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hattiesburg

Hattiesburg entered their tilt with Mize on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Bulldogs.

JB Bryant tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Joe Polk was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Hattiesburg is undefeated when Polk posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Shawn Armstrong also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Hattiesburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Hattiesburg's record is now 7-5. As for Mize, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.

Hattiesburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-4 victory against Terry on the 18th. As for Mize, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Presbyterian Christian on the 17th.
