Volleyball Recap: St. Stephens Indians vs. Watauga Pioneers

St. Stephens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Watauga Pioneers. The Indians were not able to make up for their defeat to the Pioneers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-10, 25-19.

Addison Granger paced St. Stephens' offense, picking up 11 kills. Granger got some help from Peyton Brown and her 13 assists. Addison Smith controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Watauga found their leader in sophomore Caroline Childers, who had 14 digs and three aces. Childers has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 22 times she's played.

St. Stephens' loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Watauga, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. St. Stephens will square off against rival Alexander Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Watauga is set to challenge their familiar foe Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
