Football Game Preview: Bluff City Gray Wolves vs. Westwood Longhorns

The Bluff City Gray Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Westwood Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bluff City has given up an average of 43 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bluff City's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Memphis Business Academy on Thursday. They were beaten by the Execs 56-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Gray Wolves were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westwood). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Booker T. Washington 33-6. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Longhorns considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Westwood's win came from a few key players Bluff City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kenterrion Townsend, who rushed for 51 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards.all of that, rushing production came thanks to one massive run

One reason for the win was Westwood's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Syr'Javion Reed was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine.

The victory made it two in a row for Westwood and bumps their season record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 12 points in those games. As for Bluff City, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Bluff City was dealt a bruising 40-0 loss at the hands of Westwood when the teams last played back in August of 2024. Can the Gray Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
