Volleyball Game Preview: Cholla Chargers vs. Rincon/University Rangers

The Cholla Chargers will head out to square off against the Rincon/University Rangers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cholla has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 6.

On Monday, Cholla didn't have quite enough to beat St. Augustine Catholic and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Rincon/University posted their closest victory since February 27th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Mica Mountain. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rangers.

Rincon/University wouldn't go down easily and took Mica Mountain into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-27, 15-13.

Rincon/University's win came from a few key players Cholla will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nic Sanchez, who had 16 digs and two assists. That's the most digs he has posted since back in February.

Rincon/University picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 11-4. As for Cholla, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Cholla couldn't quite get it done against Rincon/University in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 2-0. Can Cholla avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
