Soccer Game Preview: St. Michael's vs. Santa Fe Prep

St. Michael is 0-8-2 against Santa Fe Prep since October of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Horsemen will take on the Blue Griffins at 1:00 p.m.

St. Michael's fought the good fight in their overtime match against Academy for Technology and The Classics on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Academy for Technology and The Classics by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty ten goals in the game before, St. Michael's couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Christopher Patrick, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe Prep had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 10-0 shutout. Santa Fe Prep's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven contests.

St. Michael's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6-1. As for Santa Fe Prep, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.

St. Michael's might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Santa Fe Prep in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Horsemen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
