Football Recap: Cascade Christian Cougars vs. Eatonville Cruisers
Cascade Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell to the Eatonville Cruisers 34-28. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cruisers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Despite the loss, Cascade Christian still got an impressive performance from Grant Johnson, who threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 127 yards on only nine carries. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards. A healthy portion of that aerial production (105 yards to be exact) went to Chace Jenkins, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Cascade Christian's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as Jenkins, Josiah Laurence, and Johnson picked up one apiece.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cascade Christian will welcome King's at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cascade Christian will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. As for Eatonville, they will host Black Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
