Basketball Game Preview: Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish vs. McCallie Blue Tornado

Knoxville Catholic has gone 8-2 against McCallie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish will challenge the McCallie Blue Tornado at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Knoxville Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Cade Murphy was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 16 on his way to 31 points in addition to six boards and three steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Renfree, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 15 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, McCallie suffered their closest loss since December 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of McMinn County by a score of 44-41. The game marked the Blue Tornado's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

McCallie's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Knoxville Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Knoxville Catholic strolled past McCallie in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 65-47. Does Knoxville Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will McCallie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
