Baseball Recap: Rutherford Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Rutherford rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers, sneaking past 2-1. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Tyler Harry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up nine Ks. Rutherford is 5-1 when Harry allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Douglas Maldonado Romero was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Rutherford's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Coming up, Rutherford will square off against Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Bay Haven Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
