With a playoff win on the line, William Floyd rose to the challenge on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 41-7 victory over the Longwood Lions. The win was just business as usual for the Colonials, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.

Jaquan Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made three total tackles (1.0 for loss). Derek Glock was in the mix too, providing William Floyd with one TD.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to William Floyd's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: David Gonzalez, Jayden Johnson, and Rashaun Wright, who each picked up one sack apiece. William Floyd received some extra help from Glock, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for William Floyd, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Evan Commodore, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

William Floyd's record is now 10-0. As for Longwood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Coming up, William Floyd will take on Ward Melville on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Colonials 8.7, the Patriots 12.3) so any points scored will be well earned. Longwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
