Softball Recap: Brawley Victorious

Brawley won the last time they faced Palo Verde Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Wildcats came out on top against the Yellow Jackets by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Daniella Yescas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isabella Yescas was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleen Pacheco, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Brawley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.

Brawley's record now sits at 11-16. As for Palo Verde Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Brawley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palo Verde Valley, they will face off against Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
