Basketball Recap: Central City Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the Central City Bison came up short against the Gothenburg Swedes and fell 54-46.

Despite the defeat, Central City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sydni Homolka went 6-for-11 to rack up 17 points and six boards. Hope Paup was another key player, putting up nine points.

Even though they lost, Central City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Central City's loss dropped their record down to 23-3. As for Gothenburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-3.

As of now, neither Central City nor Gothenburg have any future games scheduled.
