After a string of five wins, Crest's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Kings Mountain Mountaineers by a score of 2-1. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mountaineers earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Madison Crocker and Allie Summer did some serious damage despite the final result: Crocker went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI, while Summer went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Crest's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 17-3. As for Kings Mountain, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Crest didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-1 win against North Gaston on the 28th. As for Kings Mountain, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against South Point on the 28th.
