After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montville, Sparta was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-17 victory over the Lakeland Regional Lancers. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their nine-point performance the matchup before.
Lakeland Regional lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jeremy O'Hernandez, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Collin Sabric, who threw for 156 yards and a touchdown.
The win got Sparta back to even at 1-1. As for Lakeland Regional, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
